Before I get started with today's post I just wanted to mention that today is my
1 Month Blogversary!
To tell you the truth, I wanted to start a blog for a long time but I was scared.
I was scared that I wouldn't be able to figure it all out being that I'm not very computer savvy.
Scared that nobody would read or care about what I had to say.
Scared that what I wrote wouldn't reach the hearts of my readers and mostly....
Scared about what people would think.
Then one day I decided enough was enough. I was not going to let fear paralyze me from going after my dreams. If I failed...so what. At least I had the courage to try.
And that my friends was how Mommas Like Me was born.
So, I just wanted to take a sec to thank each and every one of you for your support. Your comments, emails, and kind words have meant the world to me and motivate me to keep on blogging.
So from the bottom of my heart...
THANK YOU

Ok, so now on to the good stuff.
It's 9:30 pm.
Booger Bear and Hubbs are both asleep.
I'm sitting here at my computer in my super unattractive jammies, eating peanut butter cookies, going back and forth between blogging and Pinterest {my latest obsession} and getting ready to share with you some things about me that you probably don't want to know.
All of us are unique, weird and quirky in one way or another, some more than others, but really our little idiosyncrasies are what make us special, lovable, fun and real...at least that's what I hope you'll still think after reading these.
So here goes nothing...
10 Things That Make Me...ME
{or just a weirdo}
1. I like chips in my sandwich. I thought I'd start with something not too crazy so as not to scare you off right away. I know a few other people who do this so at least I am not alone. My preferred chip/sandwich combo: Salami with nacho cheese Doritos. Why does seeing that in writing sorta gross me out? Strange. Oh well, try it sometime...it's tasty!
2. No touching during sleep. I love a good cuddle before bed and I love a good cuddle in the morning when I wake up, but once its time for sleep...
don't touch me.
Period.
Not even a toe.
I've always wished I could do the ever so romantic "fall asleep in each others arms" thing but I can't. And it's gotten worse over the years. Now I can't even sleep if the hubbs and I are face to face. I have to roll over. Maybe it's because he occasionally snores or maybe it's because I take my sleep very seriously and do not like to be disturbed...whatever the reason, don't touch me while sleeping and all will be A-OK.
3. I will not eat square meat. What the heck is square meat you ask? Two words:
Wendy's. Hamburgers.
They totally freak me out. In my mind hamburger patties are not meant to be square. It's unnatural. Therefore, I never have and never will eat square meat.
4. I always wear a hoodie when traveling on an airplane. Why? Lice. I am afraid of catching lice from the airplane headrest. I don't mean to make you paranoid, but think about it. How many heads have touched that headrest before yours did??? And you can't always be sure that someone with bad hair hygiene, unlike yourself, didn't just rest their greasy little head on it before you unknowingly lean your head back for a little snooze. That's why I wear a hood of protection over my head, otherwise you just might see me in the airport bathroom rinsing my hair with a bottle of Purell.
5. The words "moist," "nougat" and "supple" make me shiver. And not in a good way. I can't really explain why, I just really don't like the way these words sound rolling off of ones tongue. Try saying them slow and maybe you'll see what I mean...ready? Mooooiiiisssst Noooouuuugat Suuuupppple **shiver** See?

6. I refuse to sleep with the comforter on hotel beds. It's actually the first things I do when I get to a hotel room, even a nice one, I walk straight over to the bed, remove the comforter and toss it into a corner of the room. It literally makes my tummy queasy to think of all the "mystery" germs that that seldom washed, cootie infected piece of fabric must have on it. So instead of taking a risk, I just rid of it completely. Oh, and I literally have to knock myself out with a sleeping pill to keep from thinking about what's on the mattress. {Man I'm really starting to sound like a germaphobe!}
7. I hate booger noses. From the time Carter was an infant, I couldn't stand it when he had boogers in his nose. The bulb syringe or "booger sucker" as I call it, quickly became mommas best friend and baby boy's worst enemy. To this day {and Carter is now 5}, since he still cannot figure out how to blow his nose, I will hold him down to rid him of his magic nose goblins. Disgusting.
8. I get the nervous pees. This goes all the way back to my dancing days. Right before I was about to go on stage I would feel as though I was going to pee my pants. Then as soon as I got out there and started workin' it, the feeling would disappear. Yup, nervous pees. I still get them today too, but nowadays I think it's mostly due to my post-pregnancy peanut sized bladder. Sad to say I've passed this trait onto my son. I'm sure he'll thank me later.
9. I still sleep with my blankie. I know, I know, I'm 29 years old and am really too old for something so childish...but I don't care. I love my blankie. As a matter of fact, its on my lap right now. Upon closer examination it's really a ratty ugly mess, after all I've had it since I was 12, but to me it's just been broken in...perfectly. If it can hold up, I'm sure I'll still be sleeping with it when I'm old and grey. I may even want to be buried with it *wink*
10. I snort when I laugh. Now I know I'm not the only one out there who does this but it's kinda embarrassing when it happens. A sweet innocent laugh all of a sudden turns into what sounds like a bunch of little piglets rooting for truffles. It's a trait that I no doubt inherited from my momma who had the most contagious laugh ever. She had the kinda laugh where you couldn't even remember what you were originally supposed to be laughing about because you were too busy laughing at her laugh! So I guess it's not such a bad thing, cause every time I snort it reminds me of her :)
So there you have it!
I am a self proclaimed weirdo.
Still wanna be friends?
xoxo,
Lacee
